My Network Places

Even if you use a computer or a laptop, as long as you work and connect to a network with other computers, there is much importance in managing the interconnection of computers in more efficiently using very accessible means. Microsoft Windows operating systems have been innovative in allowing such a feature. Windows operating systems provide a one-stop folder where all computers within a network can be viewed and managed. The utility is more commonly known as the My Network Places.

The My Network Places is an important folder in Windows where computers within a network can be accessed with ease. Computers with Microsoft OS running on default settings will be able to view all other computers that have been purposely connected to a hub. Nothing is more convenient than a single window that helps you organize a network of computers. Admin settings may be applied to disable such functions given with different purposes such as to improve the network, for security, for limitation of network sharing and file transfer, and other purposes that involve activity between interconnected computers.

One common issue regarding the My Network Places folder is that the icon does not appear in a computer interface. The problem may be simply about an icon being transferred to another folder, or a desktop setting may have disabled the icon appearance to lessen the crowdedness of the desktop page. This utility can be found on the sidebar of windows that are conveniently aligned in order at the left side of windows. Making the left panel appear is just a simple settings modification using folder options. The My Network Places will also not appear in later Windows operating system versions like the Windows 7 since the utility has been renamed to a simpler label as Network.

Working with computers within a network can be made more efficient and convenient if you can easily access the My Network Places. Finding how you can open the utility makes the job a lot faster.
